I can see shoplifting snitching being a thing, but people actually tell on that people using tents or sleeping in their car? That's a disgrace. How little do you have to feel for other humans to do that...
since when is it illegal to sleep in your car?
Just to clarify, in some countries and states it is from discouraged to punishable with a fine that you sleep in broad daylight in your car, and at night only in specific places such as parking lots or on the side of the routes. It's not explicitly prohibited, but the police can reprimand you for it, and the laws don't cover homelessness so if you're caught homeless in a situation like that it will most likely be considered trespassing
it is a shitty situation, and people exist that likes to report that
does anyone ever actually snitch on these though? never that ive heard of
also sleeping in your car isnt even illegal why is that there

welcome to the USA where people will absolutely call the police and have you harassed.
It happens, I have seen too many people in comments admitting that they do it, and at least in my country there are videos of homeless tents being destroyed by police
And if they're camping in area that is dangerous for them or a protected species you can handle that without bringing the cops in.

I.E. "Hey I'm not sure if your aware but we have bears in the area and they tend to harrass single tents."
