Question for any Ansible devs out there: does splitting reusables roles into separate repos and calling them through requirements.yml require the use of AWX a.k.a Tower ? I'd be inclined to think yes, since all examples or documentation talk about it in the context of AWX, but I can't find a straight answer actually confirming that.

Every passing day, the "capitalism is when free exchange" talking point grows more transparently empty. While the right leans on this fallacy to give their ideas the veneer of "libertarianism," the left has frequently taken the bait, being quick to dismiss rhetorical appeals to freedom or "liberty" and corresponding calls for decentralized exchange as cultural capitalist plots to undermine our movement, rather than genuine attempts to exercise autonomy beyond the trappings of the present system. Regardless of one's political allegiance, the equation of unrestricted exchange and capitalism serves only to obfuscate the observable fact that capitalists have, since the very inception of the system, done everything in their power to squash competition, control whole economies, and enclose the commons.
That's not the product of free exchange, it's an ongoing project of expansive violence.

I don’t know whether it’s me getting older or the Internet getting older— but things feel significantly less silly now. Everything is very produced, yet sterile. Everything only exists if it can make money. If it can’t, it either doesn’t get made or dies off.
There was a magical time where it seemed everyone thought this was all experimental. Things were made because they were fun to make. That experimental nature gave us all permission to be weird. Now, it seems, everyone strives for “normal.”

I'm seeing an increase in techbro posts enamored with ChatGPT making their way into my feed more and more lately. Time to add some more filters, it seems.

@fuchsiii Thank you for saying that!
The screenshot was a deliberately silly thing that someone else wrote.
My post was intended to make a joke about how when cisgender (not transgender) people write about me, they make a big deal about traits I didn't choose, like being gay, autistic, and transgender. And they ignore other important parts of my personality, like how I'm an artist, or that I love nature.
So what they say comes off as silly and reductive as "he gayed transgenderly down the stairs" to me.

@Joseph Riparian 🏳️⚧️ have you considered transgendering autistically down the stairs with the gay in the eyes instead....?

The amount of money I could afford to spend on music as a teenager amounted to 3 legitimate CDs. That would be like 30 bucks in today's money for the entire 6 years of my teens. That's how broke I was. I bought 5 legit books and no movies or games. If you see someone pirating, no you didn't.

Almost all of my school books were photocopies too. In university you couldn't get away with that because the textbooks were written by the faculty and they checked, I still pirated some of them because fuck that extortion scheme.

Just saw a post where a mom asked if she should allow her 14yo (cis) kid to change his name. He wants to change it because he's a jr. and the dad sucks.
55 comments. Every. Single. One. Is. Supportive.
They say things like that it will help him feel more comfortable with his identity; it's his choice; it's his name and he should get to choose...
No condemnation. No attacks. No bigotry. No insertion of religion.
He already goes by a preferred name in school and is never deadnamed.
Strange.

@dermojo The XorShift and Philox class generators are good candidates. You may want to look at proposal P1932, too.

I’m eavesdropping (well, they’re so loud I can’t ignore them) on two young startup guys at this coffee shop, a version of a conversation I’ve heard a million times. But that’s striking vs 10 or 15 years ago is… almost nothing they’re talking about is the tech. Everything is financial engineering and how to hustle the ecosystem. Nothing about products or even markets and competition, all fussing about banks and crypto and VCs. Explains a lot about my fatigue over the industry in general.
@jwz and im desperately trying to chat with zenefits support, because their handling of switching over from svb to a new bank has been abysmal and it seems like they wish to punish their customers. i get why folks want to 'plumb their own finance tubes'. just trying to run payroll is a nightmare.

something that i think neurotypicals don't always understand, at least about me but i'm probably not the only one who feels this: i am autistic, but "autism" doesn't really exist in my internal world.
i happen to exist a certain way and do things a certain way, and i have been told some of it isn't normal, and it lines up with this diagnosis. so i say those not-normal things are "because of autism." especially when those things roughly correspond to reported "symptoms of autism". but i really don't know that, because there is no distinction between "me" and "the autism". it's just the label i was given for the particular ways that i am different.

@F00FC7C8 likes to infodump Makes me think of that kind of scolding-oneself-for-scolding-oneself sad post yesterday like "[sometimes I feel like I don't have ADHD, I just have all the identifiable traits and behaviors and I'm lazy and unproductive and should feel bad]".

I find it quite funny to see folks saying that "learning the fundamentals is gatekeeping" (and this argument isn't new) when modern frontend tooling is such a fucking overcomplicated mess.
Sure, a framework starter might get you up and running quickly but once you start trying to do anything that isn't in the tutorial, a lot of that illusion of simplicity goes away.

Avoid defining this bank run as socialism the theft of wealth from the working class and the constant avoidance of justice from those invoking said vicious behavior "socialism for the rich". It's just "capitalism's bourgeois replenishing its excess supply of capital from the proletariat". (https://jacky.wtf/2023/3/RX5J)

You know, about 30 people in a room, most of them I see for the first time in my life, a few known only from the yoga classes... Plus my equally autistic husband.
...my husband who right as an autistic yachtsman wants dearly to tie properly ropes from yoga hammocks that supposedly are tied with some lame knots.
@tinytarrasque It wasn't easy, but:
a) we really like our teacher and wanted to show her our support
b) somehow being able to report this to you all helped.

Libertarians are the antivaxxers of economic regulation: having never lived in a world without it, they've deluded themselves into thinking stability is naturally occurring.

No, there is no sense in which Meta joining ActivityPub is a good thing.
Companies like Meta aren't going to join the Fediverse and play nice, they are going to join with the mentality of Embrace, Extend, Extinguish.
Sure, they'll play nice until they have 90% of the entire userbase, then they'll do whatever they like.
Don't want your posts indexed for search? Tough, they'll add it. So you'll Fediblock them? Fine, now you just cut yourself off from 90% the Fediverse, not the other way around.
