Thatâs one perspective I guess. I am aware that cats are solid hunters and do affect the ecosystem in which they live. Iâd argue that many pet cats are kept exclusively indoors unless in a catio, cat carrier, or on a leash. At least in the US, not sure about other places. And many âbarn catsâ or stray cats donât make it past their first year of life and have an average lifespan of 2-3 years. I also argue that humans have the most damaging ecological effect.

LOL that's the understatement of the year
> Iâd argue that many pet cats are kept exclusively indoors
That's an anecdote, not an argument
> many âbarn catsâ or stray cats donât make it past their first year of life and have an average lifespan of 2-3 years
What is "many"?
"average lifespan of 2-3 years" means a lot make it to 4, 5, 6, or more. How many litters will a female cat have in that time?
