As a gay man living in an increasingly conservative African country,

I genuinely loathe hearing “Why can’t male characters just be friends, why do you have to make it gay?”

If I wanted to listen to someone complain that oversexed gay men are sullying the beautiful purity of platonic male relationships, I’ve already got Pastor Trained-By-American-Evangelicals and Father Speaks-for-the-Vatican doing just that on every radio channel and every street corner, thank you very much.
