Captain Kirk captured a megalomaniac from an earlier century and stopped him from further conquest by stranding him in a penal colony on a planet.

Years and years later Kirk would believe he was landing on a different planet, but he was actually back on the same planet, his crew got captured and his old enemy wanted to take his ship to resume his conquest.

Talk about a long Khan!

Somehow this made me finally check out Lower Decks and I loved the first episode.

the series is full of easter eggs and other references, which is a big part of why I like it. πŸ˜€

If you'd like a companion series to not miss all the references, have a look at #TrekCulture's "The Ups and Downs of Star Trek: Lower Decks"
I think I'll catch most of them. 😁

If I finish the series maybe I'll go back to see all the things I missed. =)

might also want to have a look at the first half of the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy when you are done. πŸ˜€
To their credit they thought it was a different planet because something had happened to the star (I think?) and the orbits shifted. Also it was that other ship that landed, the one were Chekov was serving. Then they get the mind control bugs
I remembered why the wrong planet, but ascribed that to Khan for the sake of the pun.

I didn't remember Chekov was on a different ship!
