When institutions and NT health authorities speak about "higher" or "lower" functioning autists, what they actually mean suitability for being employed subjugated as another cog in the machine, to produce surplus for the capitalists in power. It's not because of any concern for elevating more vulnerable people, and doesn't really say anything about them that actually matters.
