My 21 y/o (cis) niece has already informed her family she intends to have her tubes tied and I couldn't be happier for her. It's great she has such a strong grasp of her life and objectives at such a young age.

Her mom was a bit worried and said maybe she should consider getting a IUD until she graduates, in case she changes her mind. And to that I say nonsense! Why! She of all people should understand her, having had her daughter at 22 herself (and of course not intentionally).
