@jec this is a whole new world on here. Things change slowly but maybe we can help things along. There’s always been divisiveness in the gay community, but perhaps things can change for the better. When I first came out I remember many guys who did not want to be in a social space with women. I’m sure a lot still feel that way, but I think things are improving. Baby steps. :gunter_dance:

@jec I hear you! But in today’s environment where 1/2 of the media is screaming hate re: immigrants, African-Americans, LGBTQ IA+, pro-choice, Muslims, Jews, Hispanics, & any POC that are not listed already, that don’t look like WASPs or WRCs, we have to be bold but careful. There are lots of guns & hateful people out there, egged on by the likes of Carlson & Hannity. We don’t want outright civil war, and need civil discourse. But iron fist/velvet glove!

@Georgia Dude the post was never really about nutjob gunmen, but about beauty standards in the gay community... let's not move the goalposts this radically, please. also naively dividing this stuff into a binary between frothing at the mouth lunatics and then everyone else, really erases and handwaves away a lot of real issues that are still important and need to be dealt with... no one is above learning and growing and self-reflection
